Snail is the common name given to members class molluscs Gastropoda. In a narrow sense , the term is given to those who have shell curled up on the adult stage . In a broad sense , which is also the meaning of ” Gastropoda ” , includes the snails and naked snail ( snails without shells , in Javanese known as resrespo) . Class Gastropoda is the second largest in terms of number species members after Insecta (Insects ) . Habitat , shape , behavior , and anatomy of snails was highly variable among its members.

Snails can be found in many different environments : from trenches to desert , even to the very deep sea . Most species of snails are marine animals . Many also live on land , freshwater, even brackish water. Most snails are herbivores, although some species that live on land and sea can be a omnivores or carnivore predators . Some examples of gastropods is Snail (Achatina fulica), garden snail (Helix sp .), sea snails (Littorina sp . ) and freshwater snail (Limnaea sp . )
