There are people who are just fond of taking awkward dishes. If you are one of those people who like those dishes that not so many people would prefer, you should better think of consuming snails. This is a tasty dish that you can cook and then store. Here are the steps that you are going to follow.
Take a pot and fill it with clean water. Heat the water until it boils. Bath the snails in the colander. Then, put them in the boiling water for a couple of minutes. You should then take the pan off the fire and drain the contents in the colander. This helps to retrieve the snails from boiling water. Rinse the escargots in cold water.
You should use the sharp implement to get the snails out of their shells. Put the sharp side in the shell and then roll the shell such that the sharp implement is going to pass between the meat and the shell. After the escargot comes out of the shell, peel off the hard portion that was attached to the shell and dispose it.
Put the snails in a bowl that has vinegar and cold water. Stir the snails in the bowl. This water is going to become cloudy. Drain off the water. Repeat this procedure until the vinegar water is going to remain clear. Add onions and vegetables to in the pan. Pour the snails in the pan. Let the contents cook for an hour at low heat.
Remove them from the pan and give them some time to cool. Put them in a polythene or plastic bag that has its excess air expelled. You should include the date that you are freezing the escargots before you store them. Ensure that you are not going to exceed 3 months since you store it.
